Sherry Lynn Brown, age 73, of Jackson, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on September 22, 1952, in Jackson, Missouri, to the late George and Cloa (Welker) Stevens. In 1974, Sherry married into the Brown family.
Sherry had a heart for caring for others. She worked as a caregiver for several people throughout her life, including Sandy Scott, and spent time as a florist, where her love for flowers, bows, and crafting truly shined. She also worked as a bus monitor for the Jackson School District, where she enjoyed being around children and lending a helping hand wherever she could.
Sherry loved to cook and made sure no one ever left her home hungry, especially when her famous fried taters were on the stove. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandbabies, who were the light of her life. She adored Christmas time and took pride in decorating her home in festive fashion each year. A fan of Bluegrass music, she could often be found humming along to her favorite tunes while surrounded by the people she loved most.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Bridget) Brown; daughter, Amanda (Jeff) Brown; sister, Mary Kirn; and grandchildren, Token (Brett) Brown and Matilda Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Cloa Stevens; brothers, Odell and Howard Stevens; and sister, Esther Ladd.
