Shirley Anne Fillinger, of Marble Hill, passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born on January 28, 1941, to Daniel and Katherine (Horyza) Harris of Fort Worth, Texas. Shirley was a graduate of Castleburry High School.
Shirley Harris married Robert D. Wylie, and became a mother to her only son, Robert (Bobby) Wylie. After a while, Shirley decided to move to Paris,IL, where she worked as a teller at the Edgar County Bank and Trust. She met James A. Fillinger, they soon married and attended Bell Ridge Christian Church. Prior to moving to Bollinger County, after the passing of her beloved husband James, Shirley and her son Bobby became dedicated to each other. They looked after one another and argued like brother and sister. Their relationship was a great bond.
Mrs. Fillinger loved to go shopping. She liked to tend to her flowers, and she loved to give plants away to visiting friends and neighbors. Shirley had a loving, giving heart.
Survivors include a stepson: Robert Fillinger Jr.; half-sister: Barbara; step-grandson: Jered Fillinger; several cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: James Fillinger; one son: Robert (Bobby) Fillinger; and her stepdaughter: Crystal.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Jerry Stevens officiating. Burial will conclude at the Baker Cemetery next to her beloved son, Bobby.
