Shirley Imogene Flath, 84, of Marble Hill, passed away peacefully at her home, on July 4, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1940, in Madison County, to the late Calarence and Audrey (Stumbaugh) Kemp. She attended Zion School.
Ms. Shirley worked for 38 years as a school bus driver for Woodland Schools, prior to retiring. She liked to go bowling with her bus driving buddies and eat Chinese. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and never wanted anyone to leave.
Shirley Kemp and Clifford Flath were united in marriage on September 7, 1957, in Mississippi. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2014.
Survivors include sons: Randy (Michelle) Flath, Steven Flath; daughters: Phyllis Cook, Patricia Owens, Brittany (Damian) Martin; brother: Earl Kemp; one sister: Carol (Jim) Rauls; six grandchildren: Eric, Michael (Brooke), Zachary, Zoe, Audrey, Thomas; three great grandchildren: Hayleigh, Kaelin and Keaton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Clifford Flath; son in law: Jimmie Cook; brother: Wilburn Kemp.
Pallbearers will be Randy Flath, Michael Owens, Keaton Owens, Eric Flath, Zachary Flath, Damian Martin, Luke Wendel. Honorary Pallbearer is her son, Steven Flath.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm, with Micah Bristow officiating. Burial will follow at the Barber-Whitner Cemetery near Cherokee Pass.
