Shirley Mae Reed, 89, of Jackson, MO, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. She was born on August 10, 1936, to the late Lester and Reba (Rea) Reed.
Shirley graduated from Woodland High School in 1955. After graduation, she worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory for over 30 years before retiring and later enjoyed working at Delmonico’s Steakhouse. Faith was the center of her life, and she was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Scopus, MO. She loved spending time with her family, often babysitting and helping watch over her loved ones. Shirley also had a passion for studying the Bible and devoted much of her time to reading and truly understanding God’s Word.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn (Russell) Coomer; brother-in-law, CJ James; nieces and nephews, Dara (Chuck) Lutes and Kara (Jason) Serati; and great-nieces and nephews, Jacob, Levi, Travis, Zachary, David, and Abigail.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Reba Reed; her sister, Rita James; and nephews, Duane McLain and Richard Godar.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include; Zachary Payne, Travis Payne, Jason Serati, Levi Ruble, David DeRousse, and Chuck Lutes.
Services will be held at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri, on Monday, September 8th. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00pm with Richard Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery.
