Svitlana Ivanovna Kutsevalova

Svitlana Ivanovna Kutsevalova, 83, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Crimea, Russia, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born on February 27, 1942, in Azov, Rostov Oblast, Russia, Svitlana lived a life filled with wisdom, compassion, and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone who met her. Exceptionally well-educated, she held master’s degrees in both Engineering and Economic, a true testament to her intellect and drive.

In 2019, Svitlana made the journey to the United States to be closer to her daughter. Though she missed her beloved Crimea, she embraced her new surroundings with grace and warmth. She quickly became a beloved presence to many, forming deep friendships and sharing her kindness and insight with those around her.

Svitlana loved nature and enjoyed long walks with her little dog, Cobalt. A gifted storyteller, she created imaginative fables to help her daughter, Natalya, navigate life’s challenges. She was a lifelong reader, a passionate artist, and someone who had an innate ability to guide and uplift others. People naturally gravitated toward her calm spirit and thoughtful wisdom.

She is survived by her daughter, Natalya Kutsevalova, and her cherished grandchildren, Aykaz Klyopov and Illya (Mark) Klyopov. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan Kutsevalova and Natalya Kutsevalova (Perlikova), as well as her siblings: Vesiliy, Vitaliy, and Valentin Ivonovich Kutsevalova, and Tamara Kutsevalova.

Her memory will be forever cherished.
