Thelma Eugenia Kimbrough, 81, of Zalma, Mo., died Dec. 5, 2021, at Stonebridge in Marble Hill, Mo.
Born in Zalma, Mo., on May 21, 1940, she was the daughter of Noah and Selice Inman Hale. She and Charles “Sonny” Kimbrough on December 31, 1958. They were married 61 years when he died on March 12, 2020.
Thelma worked at various factories, but she spent many years working with her husband in their
Grocery store and T-shirt shop. She loved to sing and play the guitar. With Sonny she traveled to perform at nursing homes and church singings.
She is survived by three children: Teresa (Conrad) Caldwell of Marble Hill, Mo, Ricky Kimbrough of Zalma, Mo., and Cheryl (Tom) Litterest of St. Genevieve, Mo.; by a brother, Jack Hale, of Florida, a sister, Yvonne Hickson of Hillsboro, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Balch Cemetery near Zalma, Mo.
Services will start at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Danny McCall officiating. Hutchings Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
