Theodore "Ted" Joseph Beel

Theodore Joseph “Ted” Beel, 77, of Leopold, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. Ted was born in Glennon, MO, on Thursday, July 19, 1945, at 12:30 PM, weighing 7lb 12 oz, to the late Henry and Irene (Vandermierden) Beel.

Ted worked a number of jobs over his lifetime. He helped in the log woods as a logger for his brother Don, and numerous other people. He had worked at the shoe factory in Advance, MO for a short time, and worked as a carpenter for a period of time.

Ted never met a stranger. He knew someone everywhere he went and if he didn’t, he would by the time they finished talking. He loved to go to farm auctions and visit with everyone, piddle with old tractors and he loved his mules.

Mr. Beel was a 3rd Degree Knight at the KC Council #5898 in Leopold, MO. He attended St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO from 1968 until his passing.

Ted and Rose Ann Peters were united in marriage on Saturday, June 29, 1968, at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO. She survives.

Survivors include: his wife of nearly 55 years, Rose Ann; three brothers: Jerome “Jerry” Beel, Jim (Pat) Beel and Don (Connie) Beel all of Marble Hill, MO; one sister: Louise (JC) Nanney of Glen Allen, MO; numerous nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Albert Beel; and two sisters: Janet Weber and Rita Kanyon.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. The KC Council #5898 will lead the Rosary at 4:30 PM prior to the closing of the visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
