Verla Sue (Crites) Jordan

Verla Sue Jordan, 71, of Patton, MO, passed away on August 30, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 10, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, MO, to the late Howard and Verla (Propst) Crites.

Verla Sue and Joseph Carl Jordan were united in marriage on May 31, 1970, in Cape Girardeau, MO. Of this marriage they had two sons: Edward and Matthew. Carl preceded her in death in 2002.

She loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren. She was often caught down on the floor or outside in the yard playing with the grands. Verla enjoyed all the aspects of gardening, from planting to canning. She would knit and go fishing when she could.

Survivors include: two sons: Edward (Susan) Jordan of Marble Hill, MO, Matthew (Christina) Jordan of Patton, MO; one brother: Dean (Sandy) Crites of Scopus, MO; five grandchildren: Noah, Anna, Sarah, Madalynn and Mylee Jordan.

Services for Verla Sue Jordan will be held at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO, on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Phillip Jordan officiating.
