Vivian Imogene Brown Obituary

Vivian Imogene Brown, 93, of Marble Hill passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025 at the Stonebridge Senior Living Facility.  She was born on December 9, 1931 to the late Billy and Norma (Patton) Devenport in Bessville, Missouri.

On February 19, 1949, Imogene married Winford Brown and was his sweetheart for 66 years until his passing in 2015.  Imogene and Winford had a love that endured many challenges and transcended time.  A love that was infinite and bigger than this world. Any who experienced them together would understand. Together, they raised 4 children and cherished and spoiled many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Imogene was a cook for several years at the Woodland school and made the best breakfasts, rolls, and various desserts.  She loved to feed you and you never left her house hungry.  She like to crochet and sew and could make the most beautiful creations.  She always raised a large garden and had the most magnificent flowers in her yard.  Imogene loved to love and cared for everyone, being described by many as the sweetest person they knew.  Imogene was a member of Hahn Chapel church and had a strong faith and connection with God.

She is survived by her children:  Kenny (Kaye) Brown, Carole (Jerry) Elfrink, Sherry Brown and John (Beth) Brown; her sister: Margie Cook; grandchildren Jason (Bridget) Brown, Amanda (Jeff) Brown, Catina (Steve) Ross, Sara (Nick) Hendricks, Joshua (Haylie) Brown, Lindsey (Jake) Brown, Angie (Ed) Carlson, and Amy (Scott) Moyers; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Lonnie Brown, her brother Junior Devenport, and her grandson, Little Kenny.

Her great grandchildren will honor their great grandma, also know to many as “Mamal” by being pallbearers.

Services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Hahn Chapel Church in Marble Hill.

Visitation from 09:00 to 11:00 am.  Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Brother Ray Webb officiating.  Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park.
