Wanda Marie Crowell

Wanda Marie Crowell, 63, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Wanda is the daughter of Darrel and Barbara (Doneson) Baker. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, on November 1, 1959.

Wanda was a 1977 Woodland High School graduate. After high school Wanda attended SEMO, where she graduated in 1981. Following college, she went to school in Kansas City, Mo, to become an anesthesiologist. She worked in numerous hospitals as a nurse and CRNA until her retirement.

She was an avid sports fan. Wanda loved the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed watching all her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews play sports. She was always ready to root for her favorite teams, and support the family athletic events. Aside from her sports, Wanda had a soft spot in her heart for pet rescues; especially schnauzers. 

She is survived by two sisters: Vickie (Joe) Seiler of Leopold, MO, Teresa VanGennip of Marble Hill, MO; two brothers: Steve (Glenda) Baker of Leopold, MO, Allen (Linda) Baker of Marble Hill, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; and an abundance of great nieces and nephews, who she cherished.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Dennis Baker and Eddie Holmes.

Services will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Memorial Service for Wanda will begin at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Greg Burns officiating.
