Willia Idell (Brown) Dockins, 96, of Jackson, Missouri, passed away on December 4, 2025, at Jackson Manor. She was born May 18, 1929, in Scopus, Missouri, to the late William and Nellie (Conder) Brown.
Idell Brown married Jerry Dockins on December 16, 1949. They shared nearly 65 years together before his passing in 2014. Idell and Jerry were charter members of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.
Idell was an avid quilter and a gifted seamstress, known for her meticulous work and creative talent. She had a deep affection for dogs and enjoyed spending time in her garden, especially among her flowers. Throughout her life, Idell worked for International Shoe Company and later for Lenco.
She possessed a natural ability to succeed in nearly anything she tried. Though skilled in many areas, Idell was always quick to admit that cooking was not one of her favorite pursuits.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Dockins; siblings: J.W., Oval, Hobert, Shelby, Otto, Paul and Bill Brown, Opal Hahn, Orpha Marshall, Lillian Hahn, Oleta Yamnitz, Devern Reitzel, Essie Abernathy, Jessie Quade, Beatrice Welker and Mary Lou Brown.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Bro. Don Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
