WilliamGett “Bill” Wilcox, 71, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at his home. He was born on Saturday, June 2, 1951 in Gary, Indiana, son of Saint Elmo and Evelyn (Bonfield) Wilcox.
He was a 1969 graduate from Woodland High School. Bill was the Salutatorian of his class; he was very intelligent and excelled in all of his academics. He went on to graduate from Mizzou with honors.
William worked for the US Census and the RGIS Inventory. He was employed at Hawn’s IGA in Marble Hill. Although Bill was a quiet person, and kept to himself in his later years, he was very active as a volunteer in the community. Bill assisted and served on the board with the Marble Hill Senior Nutrition Center. He was a counselor for the 4H camp at Wappapello Lake.
Bill was a custodian and attended the First Baptist Church in Marble Hill, Mo, where he and his family had gone for many years.
Survivors include: two sisters: Lynne Parker and Muriel Olsen; and a number of nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents: Saint Elmo and Evelyn.
Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO, is assisting the family during this time. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel. Visitation hour from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM.
